audience than any other man he had ever heard; he is now devoting himself entirely to the ministry. His two oldest daughters have married well and have families, and an only son, Robert, fourteen years of age, is at home The single daughter, Rosa, graduated two years ago, 1892, at Clinton College, Kentucky, where she won a scholarship in Wellesley (Massachusetts) College, where she went at once and spent two years continuously in post-graduate studies, and in Sept., 1894, she entered Brownsville Female College (Tennessee) as a teacher, where she now is.

Rev. Simpson C. Hearne, born Mar. zo, 1839, married Miss Fannie Carlton in Campbell Co., Georgia; she was born Jan. i, 1837. Children: Anna Letitia, born Jan. 13, 1865, married Dr. Charles Rodgers Nov. x6, 1886, lives at Como, Tenn. Children: Alice, born Feb. 23, 1888, and Rosa Judson, born May 20, 1893. Second child of S. C. and Fannie C. Hearne, Effie Judson, born Aug. 24, 1868, married William Rufus Lasater Dec. 26, 1886, lives at Paris, Tenn. Children: Samuel B., born Sept., 1887; Katie L., born Jan. 24, 1890, and Frances R., barn Aug. 19, 1893. Fourth child of S. C. and Fannie C. Hearne, Rosa Carlton, was born July 18, 1873. Sixth child of S. C. and Fannie C. Hearne, John Robert, born May 20, 1880, lives in Nashville, Tenn., and has fine position with the N. C. & St. Louis Railroad. The home of Rev. S. C. Hearne is McKenzie, Tenn.

Miss Rosa Carlton Hearne married Prof. William H. Harrison June 11, 1895. Children: Catherine, born Feby. 25, 1896; Wm. Henry, born Dec. 27, 1897, and Edmond Randolph, born June 19, 1901. Prof. Harrison was born in Richmond, Vt, Mar. 11, 1869, educated at Norwood’s University School and at Richmond College, Virginia. Has been principal of various schools and academies, and is now president of Bethel College, Russellville, Ky. He is descended from the same family as General and President Wm. Henry Harrison, and has inherited a full share of the talent of that noted and honored family.

Letitia Frances, daughter of Cyrus R. and Charlotte Hearne, born in Tenn., June 20, 1842, married James M. Moore Oct 9, 1860; Mr. Moore born Apr. 19, 1831. Children: Joseph Orren, born Nov. 30, 1861; Walter Hearne, born Aug. 17, 1865; Robert Lee, born Feb. 13, 1868, died Sept. 17, 1884; James Hall, born June 12, 1870; Columbus, born June 30, 1873; Thomas Young, born
