Children: Archie 0., born Sept. 24, 1868; Frances D., born Apr. 19, 1871; Hettie R., born Dec. 29, 1874; Arie E., born Sept. 5, 1877; Minnie M., born Mar. 27, 1887. Archie 0. Rice has been married twice and has one child by his last wife, Cassic Edith. Frances D. Rice married Press Scott and has one child, james. james P. Rice is a farmer, living in Dunklin Co., Mo., and all his family are members of the Methodist Church South, and lie himself is quite an exhorter and revivalist. but not an ordained preacher.

Rev. Cyrus R., son of James P. aud Casendana (Hearne) Rice, says another child of them named Luretta, was born in Mo. 1839.

GEORGE WASHINGTON HEARNE, son of Geo. W. and Milly, born. Apr. 30, 1818, died May 8, 1888. Married Mary C. Price Oct. 1, 1850. She was born Feby. 3, 1835. Children: Ann Ellen. born jan. 22, 1852, died Dec. 11, 1900; Louisa Jane, born Oct. 1, 1853; Cleopatra, born Aug. 1, 1835; Clinton Atkins, born Jan. 13, 1860; Susan Priscilla. born Dec. 14. 1861; Robert Lee. born Nov. 2, 1864. Clinton A. Hearne married Mary E. Fowler Nov. 26. 1884. Children: Erie Ethel, born Nov. 23, 1887; Robert Bond, born Sept. 26. 1889: Mary Ursula. born July 1, 1891; Novella Clinton, born Jan. 2. 1896; Homer Hillars, born Dec. 27. 1897; George Alfred, born Aug. 28, 1899; Minta Bell, born Jan. 12, 1904. Robert Lee Hearne married Julia L. Cox Apr. 7, 1901, Children: George Cox, born May 11, 1902, and Herman Lee, born Jan. 8, 1904.

George Washington Hearne, the father, was a member of the Methodist Church and was licensed to preach, which he did till his death. His wife never joined any church, but her family were Primitive Baptists. Most of the children are Methodists. The father and sons were farmers and Democrats in politics. The postoffice of Mrs. Mary Hearne and several of this family is at Ore Springs, Weakier Co., Tenn.

REV. ERASMUS HILL HEARNE, born No. 4, 1821, Montgomery Co., North Carolina. He is the son of George W. and Milly Hearne. When Erasmus was two years old his parents moved to Wilson Co., Tenn; 1834 they removed to Weakley Co., same State; he was raised on a farm, without school advantages, or
