Nathaniel, son of Nehemiah and Jane Hearne, born Dec. 12, 1787, married three times. Of the children of his first wife, only two, Daniel and Mary, lived to be grown. He married the second time, 1845, children: Sarah Catherine, Maria Jane, Ann Eliza Allen, Caleb Henry Clay and others whose names I do not know. Nathaniel Hearne was a man of large wealth, and was both a merchant and farmer, a good Christian and Methodist, I believe lived and died in Laurel, Del. Daniel, the son of his first marriage. married Miss Amelia He died in Laurel, Del., since 1888. Mary, daughter of Nathaniel Hearne, married Mr. Fooks, and left one son, Daniel J. Fooks, who lived in Philadelphia. Pa., married and had three children, two sons and a daughter. Maria Jane Hearne. daughter of Nathaniel, married Mr. Bacon and lived in Philadelphia. Pa.

Nancy, daughter of Nehemiah and Jane Hearne. born --. died Feby. 1855, married Mr. Riggen in Del. Most of their children went to Ohio and settled in Pickawav County, near Wil liamsport. I can give the names of but four. Isaac, Washington, Nehemiah, Rendal and Nancy. There were two daughters who married and lived in Washington or Georgetown, D. C., and in 1887 as far as known only one child, Nancy, (Mrs. N. Graham, a widow) lived in Georgetown, D. C.

Several pages preceeding is data furnished me by Miss Lydia C. Rood, of Marietta. Ohio. a granddaughter of Mary (Hearne) Williams. The sketch that follows is also furnished by her, 1906.

MARY HEARNE. born Mar. 9. 1783, died Apr. 28. 1857, at Marietta, Ohio. Whether she was born in N. C. or Del. I cannot positively say, but think in N. C. She was the youngest daughter and tenth child of Nehemiah and Jane Hearne. Was twice married, first to Noah Needham, Oct., 1807, in Laurel, Del.; children: Joseph, Noah, Nathaniel Hearne, Josiah and Michael Henry. All except Michael Henry were born in Del. His birth place was Marietta, O., where he was born Jan. 21, 1818, died at the same place, Nov. 16, 1878, being the only one to live to manhood. Mr. Needham was a dry-goods merchant in Laurel Del. He and his wife were members of. the Baptist Church there, and he was a deacon. In 1817, his health being so poor, they, with their family, came to Marietta, Ohio, hoping the change of
