following negroes, to wit:--Isaac, Nell, Will and Sarah, to him and his heirs forever.

The rest and residue of my estate I give to my wife Catherine Hawkins during her natural life and after her death to be equally divided between my seven children.

Lastly, I constitute, ordain and appoint Henry Smith Hawkins and my wife Catherine Hawkins executors of this, my last will and testament, revoking and annulling all other wills by me heretofore made and this to be as my last will and testament.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid. Signed. sealed and delivered THOMAS HAWKINS. [SEAL]

On the back of said will was there endorsed, to-wit:

CHARLES COUNTY, 30 Jan., 1775.

Then came Henry Smith Hawkins and Catherine Hawkins, and made oath on the Holy Evangel of Almighty God, that the within instrument of writing is the true and whole will and testament of Thomas Hawkins, late of Charles County that hath come to their hands or possession and that they do not know of any other.

Then came Sheops Yates and John Scott two of the subscribing witnesses to the within last will and testament of Thomas Hawkins late of Charles County, deceased, and severally made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the testator herein named, sign and seal this will and that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament. That at the time of so doing he was, to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and that they respectively signed their names as witnesses to said will in the presence of the testator and at his request and in the presence of each other.
