George married Addy Mae Flanders and they had four sons and two daughters before Georges death at age 48. William married and had two sons and a daughter.

[2] Nancy Ball Crawford writes: Family lore has it that Alabama was a tough pioneer woman who, after her husband was shot in a field by a tenant, who was a confederate sympathizer, picked him up and placed him on a wagon and drove him to town where he died.
