1830, married James W. Harrison; Melinda, married Rev. John H. Threlkeld; James Jacob, born Dec. 28, 1834. Harrison Hearne died 1844, and his wife Mary, died 1836.

Mar. 10, 1840, Harrison Hearne married second wife, Miss Janette Allen Shipman, a Virginia lady, and to them was born in Shelbyville, Ky., June 15, 1843, a son, John Tevis, who was educated at the college in Shelbyville. When a little child young Hearne read the life of Benjamin Franklin and was enamored with the idea of being a printer. He worked at the trade in Shelbyville, and started the Shelby Sentinel in his boyhood, which he published for several years. Later he published an Agricultural paper in Louisvile, Ky. He afterwards went to Knoxville, Tenn., and established the Knoxville Daily Sentinel, now one of the leading papers in the South. He then went to Florida, and edited the Tampa Daily Times. In 1900 he removed to Carrollton, Ga., and bought the Carroll Free Press and continued its publication. In 1865 he married Miss Edmonia Harris of Shelbyville, Ky. Children: Frederick G., Paul R., John Edmond, Nannie Olive, and Mary.

Nannie Hearne married W. G. Griffin 1892 and Frederick G. married Miss Helen Wood 1895. Nannie Hearne is the author of a little book, the title of which is "Seeking Christ, Incidents and Selections pertaining to Conversion." John T. Hearne's wife Edmonia died while he was in Florida and Oct. 3, 1902 he married Miss Ella J. McDaniel. The mother of John T. Hearne died 1864. In politics John T. Hearne is a Democrat and he and his family are Methodists.

Dr. F. G. Hearne, son of Harrison and Mary, married Jennie L. Stephenson Mar. 15, 1855, she was born June 12, 1840. Children: Minnie Rogene, born Oct. 28, 1858; Isabella, born Sept. 9, 1860; Harri, born Apr. 7, 1863; Clara Elizabeth, born Nov. 24, 1864. Harri Hearne died Apr. 17, 1886. Clara E. died Jan. 25, 1887. Isabella married James B. Martin Apr. 28, 1884. Dr. F. G. Hearne died Jan. 18, 1893, and wife died Oct. 24, 1905.
