married Miss Mary Toole, of a Virginia family, near akin to Governor Toole, of Virginia.

Michael and Mary Hearn had two daughters and one son. His daughter Sabra married a Mr. Cook, who died; she then married Mr. Weeks Parker. The other daughter, Marguerite, married Nathan Mathenson. of Tarboro, N. C. This closes my record as to these sisters. Their brother, Michael, son of Michael and Mary Hearn, born Oct. 1, 1780; Feb. 12, 1805, married Martha Hall of Tarboro, N. C. 'He died Oct. 28, 1854; she died June 10, 1848.

"Michael and Martha Hearn had eleven children. I do not know the history of all these, but give what I have. The children are as follows: Lawrence Henry, born Apr. 6, 1810; May 16, 1836 married Margaret Ann Bell, of Halifax Co., N. C., who was born July 28, 1821. They moved to Jackson Co., Fla., about 1846, and settled near Greenwood. He died at Greenwood, Apr. 7, 1854. Their children I will give later on, with descendants. Martha Elizabeth, daughter of Michael and Martha Hearn, born Apr. 11, 1811, and is still living; will give particulars later. The other children of Michael and Martha Hearn are as follows: Theodore Constantine, born Mar. 13, 1813. Mary Rebecca, born Mar. 8, 1815; married Danford Richard, Jan. 3, 1833; died Sept. 30, 1833. James Edward, born Oct. 20, 1819; will give particulars later on. Michael, the last child, born Apr. 25, 1827. Moved to Jacksonville, Fla., about 1846, married there and had several children. His wife and children are dead, but he is still living, in active enjoyment of life, an honored citizen of Jacksonville.

"MARTHA ELIZABETH, daughter of Michael and Martha Hearn, married William Sutton, Dec. 1, 1829; had one child, Mary W. Sutton, born Sept. 19, 1830. William Sutton died 1833, and Martha Elizabeth remarried, but I don't remember whom. Martha Elizabeth is still living in Jacksonville, Fla., where she moved about 1846, from North Carolia, with her daughter Mary W. Sutton, who married Isadore V. Garnie, of Jacksonville, Fla., who died Nov. 29, 1873. They had four children: Alice Garnie, born about 1856, died about 1879. Lula Garnie, born about 1860; married General John S. Candler, of Atlanta, Ga., about 1874. They are both living, and have one son, John. Issie Garnie, born about 1864;
