a granddaughter of Gen. Sam Houston. Children: Sam Houston, born Aug. 8, 1896, and Marian, born Nov. 8, 18--. He served in Spanish War 1898, a Captain of Texas Infantry, and moved to San Antonio 1903. He has been prosperous and is now a wealthy man, living in one of the finest homes in San Antonio, and is prominent in military affairs, being Brigadier General of State Militia. His brother, Webbie Hearne, is a large land owner, and Major of the Second Regiment of State Militia, and with his father, McElroy Blacknall Hearne, owns and conducts the leading hardware store in Bremond, Texas. He is a member of Baptist Church and strong Prohibitionist, as are all the family.

John Milbra Hearne, son of John M. and Mary Hicks Hearne, born Jan. 1, 1858, and died Mar. 20, 1901. He married Miss Ida Bennett, Dec. 12, 1878. Children: John B., born Aug. 31, 1881; Guy, born April 25, 1883; Mabel, born Aug. 2, 1888; Kathleen, born Sept. 11, 1890, and Ray, born Jan. 5, 1892.

John B., married Miss Willie Carter, April 22, 1906, and they have a son named John, born Feb. 17, 1907. Guy Hearne, is a large land owner, stockman and tax collector of Robertson County, and is the youngest man ever elected to office in the county. He is a Prohbitionist and Methodist. Miss Mabel Hearne, graduate of Bremond High School, student several years in Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas, and now a successful teacher in Bremond schools, is a Methodist and member of the Eastern Star. Hicks Hearne, son of John M. and Mary Hicks Hearne, born July 29, 1866, married Miss Mary Carr, Mar. 12, 1899. Children: Mildred, born Jan. 4, 1900 and Mary Hicks, born Feb. 19, 1901.

Page 511. Hallie Roberts, married Dec. 28, 1907, James Stuart Malone, and died in Pueblo, Colorado, June 22, 1912.

Page 514. Orin D. Hearne, born 1827, died June 4, 1905. His son, Robert E. Hearne, is now a promising physician, located in Paducah, Ky., and has a fine practice.

Page 525. Miss Mattie Hearne, married Aug. 8, 1906, Rev. W. F. Laseter, a Methodist minister. Also Mrs. Alfred G. Hearne, died Sept. 12, 1905.

Page 549. Joseph Larkin Hearne, born Mar. 26, 1883, graduated Mar. 26, 1908, in a class of 112 at the Kansas City Veterinary
